Why Sticky Chai Feels So Good (and is Good for You)

Our sticky chai isn’t just about flavour — it’s packed with spices that have been used for centuries to support digestion, immunity, and overall wellbeing. Here's what goes into each cup and why your body might thank you:
Cardamom
A fragrant pod with a lot going on. Cardamom is traditionally used to ease digestion — think bloating, gas, and stomach discomfort. It’s also rich in antioxidants and may help lower blood pressure over time.
Star Anise
This star-shaped spice doesn’t just look good — it’s known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. It’s been used in herbal medicine to support digestion and may help with colds and flus thanks to its compound shikimic acid (also found in antiviral medications).
Cloves
Cloves are little powerhouses of eugenol — a natural anti-inflammatory and pain reliever. They’ve also got antimicrobial properties that can support oral health and aid digestion.
Fennel
Known for its sweet, liquorice-like flavour, fennel is often used to calm the gut. It’s great for relieving bloating and gas and may even help ease menstrual discomfort. It’s also a good source of plant-based antioxidants.
Black Pepper
Black pepper helps your body absorb nutrients more effectively — especially antioxidants like curcumin (if you ever add turmeric to your chai). It’s also a natural digestive stimulant and may give your metabolism a gentle push.
Ginger
One of the most well-researched spices, ginger is excellent for soothing nausea, improving digestion, and reducing inflammation. Whether it’s motion sickness or post-meal sluggishness, ginger’s got your back.
Natural Sweeteners: Honey & Coconut Blossom Nectar
We sweeten our chai with a choice of natural sweeteners.
  • Bush honey adds warmth, antioxidants, and antimicrobial properties — it’s been used for centuries to help soothe sore throats and support immunity.
  • Coconut blossom nectar is a low-GI, mineral-rich syrup tapped from the sap of coconut flowers. It’s less processed than refined sugars and contains potassium, zinc, and iron — with a deep, caramel-like flavour that blends beautifully with chai spices.
More Than Just a Drink
Sticky chai is warming, grounding, and a little ritual that helps you slow down. And while we can’t make medical claims, the traditional uses of these ingredients suggest your morning brew might be doing more than just tasting great.
